Where is Pansion Galini located?
Pansion Galini is located in the heart of Therma village, on the northern coast of Samothraki island, Greece. We are just steps away from the natural thermal hot springs and within easy reach of the Fonias waterfall, hiking trails and beaches.
How far is Pansion Galini from the port of Kamariotissa?
The port of Kamariotissa is approximately 13 kilometres from our guesthouse — about 15 minutes by car. We can provide directions upon arrival.
How far are the waterfalls from Pansion Galini?
The famous Fonias waterfall and canyon are about 10 minutes by car from our guesthouse. The natural thermal pools (vathres) are within walking distance.
Is Therma a good base for exploring Samothraki?
Yes — Therma is the ideal base. From here you have direct access to the hot springs, Gria Vathra natural pools, Fonias gorge and waterfalls, and easy connections to beaches and archaeological sites across the island.

Getting to Samothraki
Samothraki is a ferry-only destination and that's part of its magic. Here's everything you need to know to plan your journey to the island.
How do I get to Samothraki?
The only way to reach Samothraki is by ferry. The main connection is from the port of Alexandroupoli, operated by Fast Ferries (vessel: Adamantios Korais). The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. There are also connections from Lemnos. Book your tickets at ferryhopper.com or fastferries.com.gr.
Should I rent a car in Samothraki?
If you're planning to stay for several days and explore the whole island, renting a car is a great idea. However, if you're staying in Therma for 3-4 days, the area around our guesthouse has everything you need natural hot springs, Gria Vathra pools, Fonias gorge and waterfalls are all within easy reach.
Are there ATMs in Samothraki?
There are ATMs on the island but they can run out of cash during peak season. We recommend bringing enough cash, especially for August.
How far is Alexandroupoli from Samothraki?
Alexandroupoli is the closest mainland port to Samothraki, located just 29 nautical miles away. It is well connected by road, rail and air to the rest of Greece, making it the most convenient starting point for your trip to the island.
